Baking
My junior year of high school was undoubtedly one of the hardest times of my life. It was the first year that I was no longer in school with all my friends. It was the year that my then boyfriend was cheating on me with multiple girls in this new school that I was attending. It was a hard school year for me to finish out, but I managed. Two classes that I took were part of the reason for that and one of them was my cooking class. While I am not much of a cooker, I did enjoy the baking aspect of it so very much.
Our final project for the school year was a wedding cake. While everyone was doing the traditional circle tiered cake, I decided to be different and do a square layered cake. I used pastel colored frosting and made roses and put butterflies on it. I was proud of my creation, and I got an A on it, as well as the class.
After that, I stopped baking. I would make something every now and then but not with the detail or the passion that I did during the class. Every so often I would get creative and do something nice, but I lost the drive.
Since becoming a mother, it is something that I have wanted to get back into. I want to be able to create fun and enjoyable pieces for my daughter, and as she gets bigger, I would love for her to be in the kitchen baking with me. Who knows, she might love it and end up on Kids Baking Championship! I love watching that show. The talent that those children have just amazes me!
On this page you will find pictures of desserts I have made, and some recipes as well. As I get more into it, I may even start selling these from home locally.
